SFPD releases police bodycam footage from arrest of unlicensed hot dog vendor

San Francisco police released police body camera footage from the arrest of an unlicensed hot dog vendor last month.

A widely circulated video of the incident, not released by police, showed the seller being arrested while the seller's child cried hysterically in the background.

New video released by police shows the clerk appearing to resist as the officer tries to pry her hand away from her shopping cart.

The incident occurred on September 8 while a task force was enforcing vending laws at the Embarcadero. Officers eventually handcuffed her after she allegedly punched a longshoreman.

They say the woman was later released at the scene.

In its statement, SFPD says SF Port and Public Works employees who enforce sales laws often face harassment and attacks.
