Bulked Jon Jones Physique makes PED allegations 45 days before UFC 309 against Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones has kept the entire mixed martial arts world on its toes with his return to the Octagon to defend his heavyweight championship belt Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. But the HW champ couldn't escape the allegations of PED use. Barely a month before the highly anticipated showdown with Miocic, “Bones” posted a picture of himself on Instagram that went viral on the internet. However, the fighting community associated the heavyweight's powerful physique with performance enhancers.

Jones wrote about the IG story“Forty-five more days.” Needless to say, he seemed pretty impatient to get into the Octagon for his first-ever heavyweight title defense. After all, he had to wait about a year to fight Miocic. No wonder, the hype was so big. But things took a darker turn when an IG story screenshot found its way to Reddit.

The caption of the Reddit post read“Jon looks much better (no problem) and fitter than he did in the city fight against Gabe.” Jones made his heavyweight debut in March 2023 against Ciryl Gane. And in just 4 seconds over the 2-minute mark on the clock, “Bones” successfully subdued his French opponent. As a newly minted heavyweight, Jon Jones didn't look as pumped up at UFC 285 as he did in the viral photo.

Most fans misunderstood Jones' caption. They seemed to be confusing days with medication. One of the fans wrote“I almost read that as “45 more drugs.” Meanwhile, another fan commented“45 more days, 45 more medications.” The struggling community was already in speculation mode, imagining the consequences of another failed drug test. one fan wrote“Imagine if he failed a drug test after his fight. This would be the perfect end to Jones’ career, who fails again on the biggest stage of his career.”

Before Jon Jones moved up to heavyweight, he dominated the light heavyweight division. However, some fans felt he looked a little too big to be considered a LHW contender. One comment read“Looks like someone way too big to fight in LHW his whole career.” This sparked a joke when a fan responded“Not at all, he’s a lightweight by nature. He had to bulk up for years to get to his current shape.”

At 37 years old you have a lot of experience. But in the case of athletes, it is an indication of retirement. Even Jones has talked about it many times. And the fight fans were completely unaware of this. one fan wrote“Man, this guy should retire, man.” I don't understand the drama, he's old, Stipe looks kind of old. Was this supposed to be some kind of super fight? Look at Aspinall, I think he could fight both on the same night. The guy looks young, hungry and fit. Pass the torch and don’t wait too long.” Another fan pointed this out“Jones is turning gray and looking old because I'm older and much less talented. We're not all going to make it famous. Zyzz lied.”
