Queens shooting suspects injured two men after botched robbery: cops

Queens investigators are searching for three men connected to a botched robbery that left two people shot and injured.

Police released images Wednesday evening of two suspects involved in the shooting that occurred around 2:10 a.m. on Sept. 29 near a playground at the corner of 138th Street and 91st Avenue in Jamaica.

According to law enforcement, the two victims – both men ages 21 and 26 – were approached by the two perpetrators and a third man identified only as Carlos.

Police said the three suspects then attempted to steal property from both victims and displayed a firearm. But the robbery turned bad, police reported, and the suspects opened fire – hitting the 21-year-old in the left leg and the 26-year-old in the left and right legs.

After the shooting, authorities say the three attackers entered a green GMC Envoy that sped away from the scene westbound along 91st Avenue.

The incident was reported to the 103rd District. Emergency services rushed both victims to Jamaica Hospital, where they were in stable condition.

According to the most recent CompStat report, the 103rd Precinct reported 16 shootings year-to-date through Sept. 29, up from 10 at the same time in 2023. Robberies in the command area are also up 17.8%.

Both suspects shown in the NYPD images are described as males of medium build and medium skin tone. Carlos, who is not photographed, was also described as a man of medium complexion and build.
