Should Israel attack Iran's nuclear program?

Iran's proxies are a threat to Israel. A nuclear-armed Islamic Republic is also vital for the rest of the world. Jim Hanson, MEF Editor-in-Chief, spoke to FOX News this morning. He argued that since Iran believes Israel will attack its nuclear program, it is likely to accelerate its efforts to complete a nuclear device. This means that Israel must act accordingly.

Transcript from today's segment.

FOX: Joe Biden and senior aides have called on Israel to avoid direct attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. But you say they probably should. Now take a hit.

Hanson: Absolutely. I think the problem we've encountered is that Iran believes Israel will attack its nuclear facilities. Therefore, they are eager to speed up everything they do to get to a functional atomic bomb.

This makes Israel believe that its timetable is also shortening. So you get a self-fulfilling prophecy, and at some level the only existential threat to Israel is a nuclear-armed Iran. The Houthis, Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists will never overthrow the State of Israel. So they can either continue to treat the symptoms, or they can address the cause of the disease, which is the Islamic Republic of Iran.

FOX: Right. Your point is that they should use it. Iran should use it or lose it, because ultimately Israel could come after them. And Israel, Jim, may never again have the opportunity to act against them like they do now.

Hanson: Yes, they are riding high. They were on their heels when the October 7th attack took place, that terrible attack and the war against Hamas led to huge public opinion against them. But the elimination of some Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, as well as Operation Below the Belt, have given them a new sense of the potential for victory.

And I think now is the time that they can't afford to wait for the potential of a Harris administration that may be even less friendly to Israel. And they see Biden's continuation of Obama policies, which Harris would likely exaggerate. That they believe Iran is part of the solution and not the problem. They cannot afford this delusional belief and must protect their state.

FOX: And we have a graphic that shows Iran is getting close to major nuclear capabilities. They have enough uranium to make 15 nuclear weapons in the next five, six months or something like that. Jim, was it strategically wise for Joe Biden to essentially take an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities off the table?

Hanson: Well, Joe banned Iran, and we've seen how that works for them. I think saying “no” to Bibi Netanyahu will have about the same effect. He doesn't care about Joe's lack of leadership skills or, as I said, the possibility that we might have an even less friendly government.

He has to look: Is this the right time? Is Iran becoming a greater threat? And should they do what everyone knows they must do at some point and launch such a major devastating attack to destroy as much of Iran's nuclear program as possible and reduce it to smoking rubble and make the whole world a safer place ? included?

FOX: Let's see what they do. Jim Hanson, sir, thank you very much.
