Topeka police arrest a man after a report of a domestic disturbance

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Police have arrested a man following a report of a domestic disturbance in southeast Topeka.

The incident was reported just after 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of SE 29th Street.

Police officials said it was reported that Alfredo Ramirez Jr., 29, of Topeka, struck a person he knew with a weapon.

Officers made contact with Ramirez, and as a result of the investigation, he was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Jail on a charge of knowingly physical contact with a weapon in an angry or discourteous manner for aggravated assault.

Police officials said the victim suffered minor injuries that did not require ambulance transport to the hospital.

Bail had not been set for Ramirez as of 9 a.m. Thursday, according to jail records.
