Miramar shooting leaves man injured, police searching for suspect – NBC 6 South Florida

A man was hospitalized and a suspect was being sought after a shooting at a Miramar apartment complex early Thursday, police said.

According to Miramar police, the shooting was reported around 7 a.m. in the 11300 block of Southwest 30th Court.

The victim was found shot at the scene and taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. The police did not provide any information about his identity or exact condition.

Video of the scene shows officers parked outside the apartments at Avalon Miramar Park Place.

Miramar police Sgt. Tiffany Roy said they received a call that the suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived, and since they did not know whether the suspect fled on foot or by car, a cordon was in place been set up.

Roy said police are investigating what led to the shooting, searching for the shooter and interviewing possible witnesses.

“When they got the 911 call, they obviously heard screaming and commotion in the background,” Roy said. “They don’t know how many people were there at the time, they don’t know if they might have been witnesses or involved. They don't have that information, so they're talking to everyone who was outside who may have witnessed it.”
