American Express has launched a new promotion that offers cardholders the opportunity to earn additional Membership Rewards points and vouchers with a minimum spend. We have written in detail about the American Express Reward Multiplier here.

The American Express Reward Multiplier is a shopping portal that allows you to earn more reward points when you go to your desired shopping site through the portal. The points offered differ depending on the card variant.

With American Express you can earn up to 25,000 monthly Membership Rewards bonus points using the rewards multiplier. Starting August 1, 2023, Amex-issued corporate cards will also award Membership Rewards points towards the reward multiplier.

How does the American Express Rewards Multiplier work?

Before you shop, you need to click on the link on the Reward Multiplier website that will take you to a screen like this. When you arrive at the destination website, your shopping cart should be empty. Then fill out the shopping cart and order. You will usually receive bonus points within 150 days of completing the transaction.

Reward multiplier special with bonus vouchers in addition to bonus Membership Rewards points

American Express is offering bonus vouchers in addition to bonus Membership Rewards points on all cards and is offering the Reward Multiplier feature for orders placed between October 3 and November 3, 2024. This is a significant increase for the lower-end American Express cards.

During this promotional period, the reward multiplier offers 10x Membership Rewards points on the Black Card and 5x Membership Rewards points American Express Platinum Card And American Express Gold Card3X Membership Rewards points American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card And American Express Platinum travel credit card, and 2X Membership Rewards points on other proprietary American Express cards such as American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card will be applicable.

Here are the offers that have been introduced. The offer valid for you is the one you receive by email.

• Get an e-voucher worth INR 25,000 on eligible expenses worth INR 500,000 or more during the offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed at Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% return on spend).
• Get an e-voucher worth INR 15,000 on eligible expenses worth INR 300,000 or more during the offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed at Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% return on spend)
• Get an e-voucher worth INR 10,000 on eligible expenses worth INR 200,000 or more during the offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed at Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% return on spend)
• Get an e-voucher worth INR 5,000 on eligible expenses worth INR 100,000 or more during the offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed at Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% return on spend)
• Get an e-voucher worth INR 2,500 on eligible expenses worth INR 50,000 or more during the offer period. The e-voucher can be redeemed at Amazon, Tata Cliq Luxury, ITC Hotels and Emporio Armani. (5% return on spend)

The return on investment is pretty good at 5% for a bonus.

Qualifying purchases include all brands listed in the reward multiplier:

During the offer period, qualifying spend can be made across multiple transactions and different brands/categories using the reward multiplier. Company cards are not part of this offer. Expenses for the additional card(s) will only be offset against the basic card.

The e-vouchers purchased via Rewards Multiplier are not taken into account when calculating the limits for sending the vouchers. Fulfillment will take place by February 28, 2025.
