When do Rival rewards appear? EA FC's new ranking system explained

The launch of the latest version of its hugely popular football game from EA Sports EA FC 25 has brought some changes for Ultimate Team Rivals players.

Rivals is a seasonal online competition with a skill-driven ranking system that can be played alone or with other players.

Players must win games to climb the leaderboard and increase their rank and division so they can compete for better rewards.

We look at how EA FC 25 Rivals Rewards are different from the previous version.

When are Rival rewards available?

Rival rewards are released every Thursday at 7am UTC, which is 8am in the UK.

This means players have a week to complete all of their games before cashing out their rewards on a Thursday morning.

Rewards can be claimed in-game or on the Ultimate Team website and companion apps.

How are the new Division Rivals rewards different from previous games?

Rivals weekly rewards have been consolidated into a single selection and seasonal milestone rewards have been removed from Rivals.

The new reward system is now based on points instead of wins, giving players three points for a win and one point for a draw. This ensures that efforts in close games are not wasted and contribute to the progression of weekly rewards.

And players will no longer be offered different rewards to choose from, but rather a standard set of rewards and then an upgraded set.

Five wins or 15 points will earn the standard weekly rewards, and the enhanced weekly rewards require 15 wins or 45 points.

The type of rewards offered depends on the rank of the players.

How to earn EA FC Rivals rewards

Players move up and down the ranking system (divisions) based on match results.

As players rise through the ranks and expand their division, more rewards can be earned.

And the more games players win and the points they collect in each division, the more rewards they can claim.

Starting with Division 10, players must gain several levels to reach Division 9, and so on:

  • Win a game and players level up.
  • If you win two games in a row, the players start a winning streak.
  • Each consecutive win in a winning streak means that you advance two levels per win until you draw or lose a game and the streak ends.
  • If a game draws, the players remain at the current level.
  • If you lose a game, players can drop down a level

There are 11 divisions in Rivals, 10-1 and then the Elite Division.

Once players reach the Elite Division, they will compete there until the end of the active Ultimate Team season.
