Socceroos Abroad: Circati makes his Serie A debut, Mabil scores hat-trick

Starting in Italy, where Alessandro Circati (International match no. 637) made his Serie A debut, playing a full game for Parma as they drew 1-1 with Fiorentina on Sunday, marking their return to the top flight.

The Socceroo centre-back put in an excellent performance, completing 27 of his 31 passes and having a higher passing accuracy (87%) than all of his Parma teammates.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Matthew Ryan (international match number 555) was on the bench in Roma's first league match against Cagliari on Monday and played a 0-0 draw.

In the first round of the Swiss Cup Awer Mabil (International match no. 597) scored a hat-trick and provided five assists in an outstanding performance for Grasshopper in their 9-0 win over fifth division side Regensdorf on Monday.

To England, where the former Socceroo Massimo Luongo (International match number 571) started and played 65 minutes for Ipswich Town in their 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday on Matchday 1 of the Premier League. Cameron Burgess (Cap No. 633) was also an unused replacement.

Joe Gauci (International match number 631) was also on the bench as Aston Villa opened their Premier League season with a 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday.

In the championship Harry Souttar (International match number 606) came on as a 77th-minute substitute for Sheffield United in their 2-2 draw with QPR on Sunday.

Samuel Silvera (International match number 634) also played a full game for Portsmouth in a 0-0 draw with Luton Town in the Championship on Saturday.

Callum Elder (International match number 614) played a full game for Derby County in their 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the competition Alexander Robertson (international cap number 630) was on the bench in Cardiff City’s 4-0 loss to Burnley on Sunday.

In the first league Keanu Bacchus (International match number 628) played 89 minutes for Mansfield Town in a 3-3 draw with Burton on Sunday.

To Germany, where Nestory Irangunda (cap no. 643) was an unused substitute in FC Bayern Munich's 4-0 win over second division side SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball in the first round of the DFB Cup on Saturday.

Michael (#568) played a full game, while Connor Metcalfe (#611) played 71 minutes on Saturday as St. Pauli won 3-2 after extra time against regional league team Hallescher FC in the first round of the DFB Cup.

Aiden O’Neill (International match No. 629) played another full game for Standard Liège, who lost 1-0 to Kortrijk in Belgium's First Division A on Monday, ending their unbeaten start to the season.

In the Scottish League Cup Cameron Devlin (Cap #625) came off the bench in the 64th minute, while Kye Rowles (International No. 622) was an unused substitute for Hearts in their 2-0 loss to Falkirk on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the competition Martin Boyle (International match No. 599) played 77 minutes and assisted Lewis Miller (International match number 635) played the entire game for Hibernian in a 3-1 loss to Celtic on Monday.

To Asia, where Mitch Duke (International Match No. 559) came off the bench in the 75th minute for Machida Zelvia as they defeated Júbilo Iwata 4-0 to maintain their lead at the top of the J1 League table.

Elsewhere in the competition Mitch Langerak (International match no. 566) was in goal for Nagoya Grampus in a 1-2 loss against Sanfrecce on Saturday.

At the same time, Thomas Deng (International Match No. 598) also played the full 90 minutes for Albriex Niigata as they defeated Avispa Fukuoka 1-0 in the J1 League.

In the Danish Superligaen Paul Izzo was in goal for Randers as they lost 2-1 to Sønderjyske Fodbold on Sunday.

Also in the Danish top league John Iredale (International match no. 640) came off the bench at half-time for AaB as they lost 4-0 to Brøndby IF on Monday.

Elsewhere in Europe Alex Gersbach (International match No. 587) came on as a 90th-minute substitute for Kalmar FF in their 2-1 loss to Vasteras in Sweden's Allsvenskan on Sunday.

In the Norwegian Eliteserien Gianni Stennesse (International match number 671) played a full game for Viking as they lost 2-1 to Rosenborg on Monday.
